Ballet

The ballet section is open to dancers of all ages and classes consist of Classical, Barefoot, Demi-Character, National for the Junior classes and the addition of Neo- Classical and Pointe classes for The Intermediate and above levels. Restricted classes in both Flat and En Pointe.

Dancers 15 and Under 19 years of age are eligible to enter our Major Ballet Award with excellent monetary prizes. No other classes are needed to be danced in to qualify for this Award. And as with all our other genres – every second year dancers are invited to compete in the National Young Performer Nomination  class which is run concurrently with the Major Award.

Adjudicators are sought with backgrounds in classical dance – and we pride ourselves with employing those who are understanding with today’s style of dancer yet adjudicates fairly and recognises promising and outstanding technique.

The ballet section is usually run over 2 days (entries depending) and we try hard to makes sure age groups are close enough together to make the most of everyone’s time and availability.

Lisa Wilson

The convenor for the Ballet Section is Lisa Wilson – a ballet teacher herself of more than 20 years – and who has been behind the back desk and has climbed up and down the theater steps more times than she cares to remember! Lisa is always happy to discuss any requirements or problems you may have.
